A new survey of UK employment trends has found that recruitment prospects for the year ahead are mixed, but improving.
The report for the CBI was carried out by recruitment consultancy firm Harvey Nash. They interviewed both small and large companies that between them employ more than ten per cent of the UK workforce.
They found that the number of employers who were operating a recruitment freeze had fallen by more than 30 per cent since late 2009.
They also found that more than a quarter of companies expected graduate employment to increase over the next 12 months and that work experience and internships were now being widely offered.
