More female angel investors are needed to help shift the dominance of men in the sector and to encourage more small UK businesses to take off and flourish.
That's the message of a new campaign that's been launched by wealth management firm Addidi and the British Business Angels Association (BBAA).
According to a previous study, while nearly half the wealth in the country is owned by women, only five percent of angel investors are female. In the US the figure is 15 percent.
The BBAA said that there were approximately 18,000 angel investors in the UK who between them invested around £700 million in UK start-ups.
