From today Google's Street View software will cover 99 per cent of all the roads in the UK, offering 360 degree images of virtually every street from Lands End to John O'Groats.
Previously only 25 UK cities had coverage compared to the USA, Spain, France and Italy, all of which were already fully mapped.
Google believes that the extended service will be a boost to local businesses which can embed maps into their own sites, allowing visitors to conduct virtual tours of the area.
